As you enter the offline library and pass through the currently trending eco-friendly material section, you’ll come across a section in front of you where various acrylic samples are gathered. (Not a ghost, I promise…)

The acrylic section brings back memories of cutting laser-cut mockups back in my student days. After the laser passed, I had to scrub the burnt marks with a wet tissue. The smell of burning wasn’t pleasant, but acrylic is inexpensive and resistant to breakage under most impacts. It’s even flexible enough that glassblowing techniques have been applied to it.

In this section, you’ll find not only sheets of acrylic but also many beautifully processed samples. This parametric (?) sample is a candle holder made of acrylic. They dyed the acrylic, then cut it with a 3D robotic drill and polished it for a shiny finish.

Another sample from the same company: an apple with a bite taken out of it. 3D acrylic work isn’t something you see often, and this company can even process up to 200T thickness. If your project companion looks tired, you might just want to try biting into it. The grip is incredible.
